Whippoorwill Youth Athletic Association (WYAA) invites your child to sign-up for our Baseball Program. Ages are from 4-13. Whippoorwill Youth Athletic Association (WYAA) has been serving the Durham area for more than 15 years, sponsoring recreational athletic leagues in baseball, soccer and basketball, emphasizing fun, participation and skills development. WYAA leagues focus on good sportsmanship, wholesome competition, personal satisfaction, a good sense of fair play and an opportunity to learn basic physical skills, inherent in sports that will enable a youngster to develop a healthier body and mind.

Information:
We will be begin practice week of April 16, 2007. Coaches
meeting will be held on April 12, 2007 at 6:30pm at Durham
Library located on Milton Road.
We have available slots in all
age groups. Anyone interested in signing up should email the
board or call (919) 956-9922.

Leagues:
4-5 Every kid bats, scores and play the field every inning. No
score is kept and all kids receive trophies. You may request to
be on a team with friends. Game length is 2 innings or 1 hour.
Coach pitch underhand (after 7 pitches they receive their
preference of help or a batting tee).
6-7 9 players play the
field and all kids are in the batting rotation (whether they
were on the field that inning). All kids play equal amounts and
equal opportunities. No score is kept and all kids receive
trophies. You may request to be on a team with friends. A team
receives 3 outs or max 5 runs in an inning. Games last 5 innings
or 1 hour. Coach pitch over hand (7 pitches or 3 swinging
strikes).
8-9 9 players play the field and all kids are in the
batting rotation (whether they were on the field that inning).
All kids play equal amounts and equal opportunities. Players
MUST attend mandatory assessments and are divided up with equal
skill given to each team. Score is kept with a maximum of 5 runs
per inning. A tournament is played at the end of season with
trophies going to the season and/or tournament winner. Kid
