Wallace Orn Gunderson
Wallace O. "Wally" Gunderson, of Grand Forks North Dakota peaceably passed away at home early Friday morning, November 11, 2016.
Wallace was born July 15, 1937, one of 11 children born to Hilda and Gustav Gunderson on their farm near Buxton, North Dakota. Wallace married Marilyn (McDonald) on August 29, 1959 in Shelly, Minnesota.|
Wallace was a hardworking man that endeared the trust and respect of every person his life touched. He was a loving, dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and family man raising six children. He was a Veteran of the US Army and he lived for his 15 grandchildren and the countless number of daycare children that grew up and graced their home on Oak Street.
Wallace is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marilyn, his sons Jay (Diane), Jamie, Jody (Kellie), Jerry (Lisa) and daughter Jana; grandchildren Jamie (Roni Lynn), Nicole, Jessica, Jacob, Tazman, Shania, Shay, Tanner, Szoie, Tjorn, William, Benjamin, Alexander, Abigail and Ethan; 2 great grandchildren Evelyn and Joshua; Sister Diane (Kvitne); Brothers Myron (Donna), Rodney (Lila Jean), and Dennis (Lorna); Sisters-in-law Valerie, and Mary Ann (Melberg); Brothers-in-law Bill Couchigan and Dennis (Gayle) Satermo. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Jeff; Sisters Helene (Lawrence) Brend, Mavis Couchigan, and Rosalie (Melfred) Lindstrom; Brothers Gordon (Theoline), Orville (Maryann), and Gayhart; Sisters-in-law Maureen (Mike) Baggerud; Brothers-in-law Lloyd Kvitne and Bob Melberg.
A visitation will be held from 5 - 7 pm, Tuesday, November 15th at Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S 42nd St., Grand Forks, ND. A celebration of Wallace's life will be held at 1:30 pm November 16th at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1405 S 9th St., Grand Forks.
