INDEPENDENCE, Mo. 

Richard L. Pooch Coffelt died at the hospital of congestive heart failure Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005. He was born May 31, 1934. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl J. Coffelt. Survivors include a brother, Eugene Coffelt, Baldwin City, Kan.; a daughter, Robbie Drake, Barnes, Kan.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Richard was an active member of Eastside Baptist Church in Independence, and AA. He retired from the Shawnee County Refuse Department. After retirement, Richard resided with a niece and nephew, Danny and Vicki Sunderland, in Independence. The family requests no flowers.

A memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at Eastside Baptist Church, 19901 E. Missouri 78, Independence. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, in Rochester Cemetery.
