Norman Russell Williams

DURHAM — Norman Russell Williams, 77, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2011. Born in Durham, August 11, 1934, he was the son of the late Fred Pope Williams and Mary Ethel Hatch Williams.

Mr. Williams served in the US Army, 11th Airborne Division. He was employed by Modern Electric prior to establishing Norman Williams Electrical Service in 1981 and retired in 2004. During many of those years he was assisted in the business by his four sons. He was a member of The Summit Church.

Mr. Williams was preceded in death by two sons, Paul Norman Williams and Jonathan Carl Williams; his parents; sister, Barbara Earle Boggs; and brother, Larry Randall Williams.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Blohn Aldridge Williams; sons, Russell Aldridge Williams and David Wade Williams; three grandchildren, Jordan Margaret Williams, Karsan Mary Williams, and Jonathan David Williams; brother, Bill Williams (Hilda); and sister, Maisie Eareckson, both of Hampton, Va.

The family will receive visitors at Clements Funeral Home from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, 9/25/11. Funeral services will be held at the Summit Club Boulevard Campus (The Journey Church located at the corner of Club Boulevard and Carolina Avenue) at 11 a.m. on Monday, 9/26/11, and burial will follow in Old Maplewood Cemetery.
