Mildred J. Sunderland
1927-2007

Mrs. Mildred J. (Millie) Sunderland, Passed away peacefully late Thursday, November 1, 2007, after a courageous fight against Alzheimer's, at an assisted living facility in Thousand Oaks, CA. Millie was born on July 1, 1921 in San Fernando. She was preceded in death by her two sons, Cal and Don; and her brothers, Lee, Floyd, Frank and Vernon. She is survived by her husband, Ernie of 65 years; her siblings, Herb, Lois and Liz; her children, Bob, Joe, Jeanne, Jill and Jan and their spouses; nineteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Her early years were spent in the Fresno area.

She moved to the Los Angeles area in her early twenties where she met and married Ernie. Millie was a loving homemaker who stayed home raising their seven children. She was very active within the Baptist church, maintaining the church library and organizing the Women's Missionary Society. In her free time, Millie loved stamp collecting, jigsaw puzzles, traveling, following professional sports' teams, and babies!

A private burial was held for family only. A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, November 17, 2007, 1:00 p.m., at Bethany Church, located at 200 W. Bethany Court, Thousand Oaks.
