This was a life cut short, he was a great husband, brother, man, father, son, uncle and light of the world. Maximo was everything to everyone, unforgettable because of his gentle, loving and attentive nature.
Born in Zimbabwe, he was the son of Roselyn Williams of Durham, and Francis Mukelabai of Zambia.
Mr. Mukelabai was a Certified Public Accountant and was principal of Maximo Mukelabai, CPA, PC, in Durham.
He was an extremely remarkable man -- one who will be greatly missed by family, friends, and colleagues.
Mr. Mukelabai is survived by his wife of 14years, Patience Mukelabai of Durham; two daughters Ruvarashe Mukelabai and Rutendo Mukelabai; two sisters, Gloria Moore and Mazvita Maziveyi, brother Raymond Maziveyi; niece, Megan Moore; and Step father Edward Maziveyi.
Even in death Maximo still continues to touch people's life in the most incredible way.
Mr. Mukelabai gave his time and service to the community, he served on several boards in the community.
He was also a leader in his church, a leader that will be greatly missed.
May his soul rest in everlasting peace, he will always be missed.
Till we meet again in heaven, for now you will always be in our hearts and our dreams will be of the life we shared together.
Details on the service arrangements are included below. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Mukelabai Family, c/o NCACPA, to benefit his wife, Patience, and two young daughters, Ruvarashe and Rutendo.
Additionally, an accounting scholarship will be established in Max's honor. A check made payable to NCACPA, c/o The Maximo Mukelabai Accounting Scholarship, will be directed accordingly. All contributions can be mailed to NCACPA, PO Box 80188, Raleigh, NC 27623.
The Family is being assisted in Durham County by Clements Funeral Services, Inc
Visitation will take place Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Clements Funeral Service, 1105 Broad Street, Durham.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Shepherd's House United Methodist Church 107 North Driver Street, Durham.
