Mr. Day was born May 28, 1920, in Marshall, Mo., and had lived in this area most of his life. He was a member of Ararat Shrine and Independence Lodge 76.
His survivors include his wife, Betty Day, of the home; a son, Lynn Day, St. Joseph, Mo.; and a granddaughter.
Services will be at 1 today at Park Lawn Funeral Home, Kansas City. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Independence. Friends may call from noon to 1 Jan 30 at the funeral home.
Bettye M. Day, 82, Independence, died Saturday, March 27, 2004, at The Groves in Independence.
Mrs. Day was born Nov. 18, 1921, in Independence. She retired from the city of Independence as a billing clerk. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon R. Day, on Jan. 28, 2004, and a son, Johnnie Hamsley.
Her survivors include a son, Lynn Day, St. Joseph, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1 pm. Wednesday March 31 at D.W. Newcomer's sons Noland Road Chapel,
Independence. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Independence.
Friends may call from noon to
1 pm. Wednesday at the chapel.
