In Memoriam KELLEY RYAN KING
1981-2024
|
Kelley "Ryan" King
The world became a brighter funnier place on September 8, 1981, when Kelley "Ryan" King made his entrance. The lights dimmed significantly Monday afternoon when he left this world as a result of cardiac arrest.
Born to Cynthia Creech (King) Whitlow and Kelley Warren King, it was immediately obvious that he was King of the household. As a toddler, he referred to his Dad as "Top Dog" and his Dad called him "Top Puppy". Growing from a little guy to a man, he loved his little brother Chris, the beach, Matchbox cars, action figures, baseball cards, sports stats, anything that involved a football, baseball, basketball - but most especially a GOLF ball - fast cars, nice trucks, VERY NICE clothes, good cologne and traveling.
He poured himself into establishing and growing his electrical company - Ryan King Electric. His most recent spectacular accomplishment was becoming Dad to his sweet baby boy - Matthew Christopher Louis King, AKA "Little Baby Louie". That little guy will miss the opportunity to have the coolest Dad on the planet.
Ryan LOVED. He loved his family, his friends, his little boy, his electrical company. What a testament we have seen over the past few days of their love for him in return. And what wonderful stories have been shared about the fun-loving and so very generous person he was.
Ryan leaves behind his "Little Baby Louie", his brother Christopher King, Mother Cindy and step-dad Ken, Father Kelley and step-mom Jean, step-brother Jeff Whitlow (Stacey), nephew Kodi and niece Kathryn Whitlow, step-sisters Cindy Shock (Jeff) and April Boyd (Reggie), his office manager and right-hand-girl Patricia, aunts, uncles, cousins, wonderful friends, employees and business associates too numerous to mention for fear of leaving out one name of someone he touched.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 3rd at Clements Funeral Chapel in Durham. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
Our family cannot find appropriate words to express our appreciation to all of you as well as the dedicated team of caregivers at Duke Regional ER and CCU.
As far as we know, no one has ever made a hole-in-one on all 18 holes of a course, but we can promise you there's a tee-off time in Heaven today and, if anyone can do it, he can!
The family is being assisted by Clements Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. in Durham. Online condolences may be sent to www.clementsfuneralservice.com.
