In Memoriam
CAL R. SUNDERLAND
1950-2005

In loving memory of Cal R. Sunderland, born Jan. 13, 1950 in Glendale, CA. Left this earth on Dec. 10, 2005 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. His ever lovin' wife and best friend Linda was by his side. He also leaves behind his daughter Darcei and son-in-law James Walker, his two adorable grandsons, Alex and Ben, parents James and Mildred Sunderland, brothers Bob and Joe and Sisters Jeanne, Jill and Janet and their spouses as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends to mourn this tremendous loss.

Cal was a Vietnam veteran and most recently worked as a foreman for K.R. Yarbrough Construction. He spent almost 15 years working for the company and took great pride in his work; he thoroughly enjoyed all the friends he made in the 'Yarbrough Family'. He and his wife settled in Tucson in 1990; he loved sports, was a proud, hardworking, generous and all-around good guy with a quick wit, lots of smiles and was well known for his bone crushing hugs which will be greatly missed but never forgotten. He was preceded in death by this “little brother Don” and is now reunited and hugging him! Last but not least he leaves his beloved wonder dog Shelby.

A memorial service was held at St. Francis Methodist in the Foothills Dec. 14, Wed. at 2:00 p.m. Another service with full military regalia was held at a later date, where he will be laid to rest in Southern, CA.

Cal would love to encourage everyone to live each day to the fullest, no complain', just keep on smilin'. His wife and family would like to thank the many people who brought food, support and prayers. We love you all! In lieu of flowers we would encourage those who can adopt or donate to F.A.I.R. or S.P.C.A
