CARLTON PENDLETON FORD, age 85, of, Roxboro, NC passed away Friday morning, July 19, 2024 at the home of his fiancee.
Mr. Ford was born August 24, 1938 in Person County (Ca-vel), NC, son of the late David Pendleton Ford & Elizabeth Hardin Loftis Ford, and was husband of 46 years to the late Cynthia O'Dell O'Briant Ford, and 8 years to the late Betty Jane Chambers Ford. He was previously employed with Collins & Aikman Corp. for 20 years and later retired from the Miller Brewing Company after 20 years of service. He was also co-owner of the Rink-A-Dink and Outer Limits for more than 30 years and was a member of Theresa Baptist Church.
Carlton enjoyed watching boxing & UFC fighting, bluegrass music, dancing, traveling, having breakfast with his friends, going to the gym daily, and talking, texting, and spending time with his family.
Surviving are three children, Chuck Ford & wife, Marsha of Roxboro, NC, Craig Ford & wife Kristal of Rougemont, NC, Carla Ford-Jordan of Roxboro, NC, fiancee, Jean Evans Duncan, six grandchildren, Candice Ford, Cristin Christiansen, Garrett Ford, Kaylin Jordan, Lauren Ford, Courtney Ford Dixon, and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wives, Mr. Ford is preceded in death by two brothers, Eddie Ford, Billy Ford, and two sisters, Sylvia Briggs, and Anne Hatcher.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2024 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel. Interment will follow in the Person Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends and guests from 6:30 till 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2024 at the funeral home and other times at the home of Chuck & Marsha Ford, 31 Landmark South Drive, Roxboro, NC 27573.
Pallbearers will be Ethan Dixon, Brandon Dukes, Alan Duncan, Garrett Ford, Kaylin Jordan, and Lewis Winstead.
Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to the Theresa Baptist Church Building Fund, 3919 Chub Lake Road, Roxboro, NC 27574.
