In Memoriam
BRIAN COREY GUNDERSON
1958-2022

Brian Gunderson, 63, of Houston, TX, formerly of Hendrum, MN, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2022 at HCA Houston Healthcare West.

Brian was born on December 16, 1958 in Crookston, MN to Orville and Leann (Littlefield) Gunderson. He graduated from Hendrum-Perley High School in 1978 and moved to Cyril, Oklahoma to work in the oil fields. His oil field work experience included work in other Southern and Western states in the U.S.

His education included technical school for electronics in Bakersfield, CA; and goldsmithing schooling in Florida, where he graduated at the top of his class. He worked in the Vero Beach area for a custom-made jewelry and watch-maker store, where he enjoyed designing one-of-kind jewelry pieces for his customers.

Brian returned to his hometown area of Hendrum, MN, to join his dad and uncle in the custom-combining business for several years; and eventually started a local carpet cleaning business. He served as a member of the Hendrum Volunteer Fire Department.

After working for Phoenix International in Fargo, ND, he left "frigid Northern winters" behind to work in the Houston, TX oil industry. Brian finished out his employment years at Harris County Park Service in Houston, where he received Pesticide Applicator Education, and was certified through the Texas Department of Agriculture.

Brian was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and enjoyed reading his Bible, regularly. His family knows that because of his personal relationship with Jesus, Brian is "at home" with the Lord, and we will see him again.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Gunderson (Hendrum, MN); Leann (Littlefield) Gunderson (Durham, NC); three siblings - Kimberly (Marv) Faul, Velvet (Gary) Sunderland, and Gregg (Mary) Gunderson; numerous nephews and nieces; aunts and uncles, and other relatives.

Brian was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents - Casper and Laura Gunderson (ND); maternal grandparents - Ed and Dora Littlefield (Cyril, OK); a nephew, Luke Gunderson (MN); and various uncles and aunts.

A funeral service will be at 1:30PM on Saturday, August 27, at First Baptist Church in Cyril, Oklahoma. Burial will be in Fletcher Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed.
