In Memoriam ADELINE MAVIS GUNDERSON 1946-2024 |
Adeline Mavis Gunderson was born in Thief River Falls, MN on February 26, 1946, to John and Annie Bagne. She was a graduate of Lincoln Senior High, Thief River Falls, and went on to complete Cosmetology courses to become a hair stylist. She worked for JoAnne's Beauty Shop and the taxi company in Thief River Falls.
In 1968, she married Omer Gunderson, and they made their home on his family farm near Caledonia, ND. To this union two sons were born, Jon and Jason Gunderson. After retiring they moved to Shelly nearly 19 years ago. During those years she was a homemaker, worked the scale during beet season, also worked at the Shopper, and was a Postmaster at both Caledonia and Shelly.
Adeline enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting. She was a wonderful cook and hosted many family gatherings. There was usually a game of cards (Whist) going on. She enjoyed bass fishing with family and friends. She loved music and taught herself how to play guitar. She put that skill to use teaching Sunday School.
She is survived by her sons, Jon and Jason; brothers, Elling Bagne, Vern (Arlene) Bagne, and Gerald (Lori) Bagne; sisters, Janice Tveitbakk, and Joy Gleason; brother-in-law, Francis Ayotte; numerous nieces and nephews; and three grandchildren, Brandon, Dillon, and Hannah.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Omer; sister, Lorraine Riska; brothers-in-law, Richard Tveitbakk, Steve Riska, and James Gleason; and sister-in-law, Betty (Gunderson) Ayotte.
The family would like to thank Hospice, the staff at the Hillsboro Clinic, and her many friends and neighbors for their constant loving care and support.
Memorial Service: 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Halstad, MN.
Visitation: One hour before the service at the funeral home.
Inurnment: Caledonia Cemetery, Caledonia, ND. (At a later date)
